Who is required to send a pre-lien notice in Texas?

In Texas, subcontractors, sub-subcontractors, and material suppliers who do not have a direct contract with the property owner are required to send pre-lien notices to preserve their lien rights. General contractors with a direct contract with the property owner are not required to send pre-lien notices.
