When should a pre-lien notice be sent?

For commercial projects, subcontractors and suppliers must send a pre-lien notice by the 15th day of the third month following each month in which labor or materials were provided but not paid. For residential projects, the notice must be sent by the 15th day of the second month following the month of unpaid work or materials.
