Do I need to notarize the lien?

Last Update منذ شهرين

Yes. In Texas, all Lien Affidavits must be notarized before being filed with the county clerk. This is a legal requirement under Texas Property Code and applies to every lien filing, regardless of whether you are a subcontractor, supplier, or general contractor. However, this requirement does not apply to pre-lien notices, which do not need to be notarized.

To make things easy, Texas Easy Lien offers an online notary service that allows you to notarize your lien documents directly through our platform — no need to find a notary in person. This helps you complete the entire process quickly and legally in one place.
